It has snowed here today. Nice big flakes. Gavin has been worried.
"Oh no. Mommy the snow is falling on the ground. The snow is getting dirty."

Ideas
Gavin came up with something he needs.
Living at my parents house has been a change in many ways. The way I am going to be talking about is how cool my parents keep their house. Its a balmy 65-68 in the mornings when we wake up out of our warm beds. Gavin will then hold his bladder even longer than the 10 hrs he has already slept because the potty is "freezing" (his words) on his little bum.
When he can no longer hold in the flood waters he will do a little dance and go to the potty. He wont excatly sit. He will use his upper body strength and hold himself above the potty by holding on the the raised sides.
He looked up at me the other day, "Mommy I need a potty warmer."
So...my dilemma is where do you buy or how do you make a toddler potty warmer...lol.

Church
Today at church was 13th Sabbath. We went upstairs to worship as a whole church after 45 min of Sabbath school.
Gavin taking care of baby Jesus.
When we went upstairs and found out that the Kindergarten class was leading out this time. So Gavin and I found a seat in a pew. And watched as the older kids sing and lead out the song service.
We sung out the Hymnals and Gavin loved it.
Gavin turned and asked mommy a very important question. "Where is my microphone? I need a microphone."
He then turned back to the front and sang even louder. "AWAY IN A MANGER NO CRIB FOR A BED" right along with the audience.

A Game
Gavin loves to play. He wants to play all day. He invents little games with what he has. He also has a few friends that no adult can see. His favorite is game today has been sliding down his slide then taking off at a run yelling,"Come on. Come." Having his mommy chase him thru the kitchen and back to the living room where I would then grab him and tickle him. This game went on for atleast 2hrs with only short little breaks where mommy could catch her breath. And when he thought that mommy wasnt comming he would motion with his little hand for me to come.
Im tired.
Im tired.

by Ma-ma-ma
Ma-ma-ma has been sick.
Yesterday Gavin was home with mamama and she was hobbling around and coughing....
"Mamama are you sick?"
"Yes Gavin I am sick."
"Do you need a doctor?" Gavin asked with a hug.....
"I am ok."
After a good laugh and people come home from erronds and work.....
Gavin askes Papa "Papa are you a dr?"
We had a good laugh.

Double post today....
I am staying with my parents at the moment till I move down to FL. Well, my mother is vegetarian so we have had to change our eating habits for a little while. Today for our dinner we had cheezy potatoes with broccoli, corn on the side and Fried Chick (for those who dont know its a fake chicken made of who knows what....I guess I should look at the side of the can...lol). I made a plate for my son and set it down in front of him.
"Yum chicken." Gavin exclaimed. He shoved a huge piece in his mouth and started to chew. The chewing stopped. A look of confusion crossed his little face. Within seconds his little tongue had pushed that foreign food out of his mouth. "Thats not chicken. I dont like it."
Gavin ended up eating an extra serving of corn.

Wake up...
Today I was laying down on the couch about to fall asleep. My eyes were closed and my body was giving in to the Sandman when I feel a wet tongue slide across my face. "Mommy, are you awake?"
Whats a better way to wake someone up than a lick....lol.

Boogers
My son had discovered that boogers gross out mommy. And he likes that. He will sit there and pick and pick and pick until he has a boogie. He then will bring it towards his mouth and make sure I am within earshot saying, "Yummy booger." And as I launch myself towards him to grab his hand yelling, "We dont eat boogers." he starts laughing and seems to relish in the crazyness that happens when a booger is on his finger.

Balls
What comes to mind when you hear, "Oh my balls!"
For my son it means he has caught a glimpse of his numerous balls and he is currently on his way with arms outstretched and joy in his eyes.
For hours he will entertain himself with kicking, throwing, bouncing and rolling balls. He love every kind of ball from the ping pong ball to the huge exercise ball that is right now packed away. His daddy just bought him a Mickey Mouse bouncy ball that fills his arms and he loves it. Yesterday he actually fell asleep holding it next to him in bed.
So I know when I hear my little boy scream, "Oh my balls!"; he is the happiest boy in town.

What I want...I get.
Gavin has this way to melt any heart and get what he wants.
While he was at WalMart with his daddy, he batted his eyes and hugged on his daddy and said in the sweetest voice. "Daddy I need a ball."
So Gavin got his ball.

Today
Gavin still is sick. Poor boy is so snotty. He is polite as well. He covers his mouth when he coughs and blows his nose.
Today while he was up and feeling pretty well he helped out with dinner. He poured the corn in the pot and helped cut the bread. He love helping.

Daddy
Gavin loves his daddy.
Because Gavin was sick today he stayed home with his daddy. Mommy, Papa and Mamama all had to go to work.
After we all got home and supper had been eaten, daddy needed to go pick up something. Daddy got ready to go and was trying to sneak out. Gavin saw him. "Come back. Come back." running after him and giving Daddy a big hug.Pointing to the living room, Gavin said, "Walk this way."
We tried to distract him and look at the window and see all the pretty Christmas lights in the neighborhood. Well, the plan failed. Gavin was looking out the front window when daddy pulled out of the driveway. With a scream of panic, "I lost my daddy." Gavin was in tears. "Daddy where did you go?"
We calmed him down and showed him how to draw on frosted windows. He was ready to play again.
Gavin misses his daddy. Daddy is coming back.

night time
My son is the sweetest thing. He has a routine at night where we read his bible story, potty, kiss night night and then sing a few songs. After our singing had ended and I have placed a kiss on his forehead, I turn to leave when I am stopped by a whisper, "Mommy please dont leave. Stay."
So I stay.
So I stay.
Gavin is so polite
Even when he is tired or cranky you can still hear a whispered "thank you" or a "please" and he has even learned how to say "excuse me" after burps.
This morning after he had chugged down a glass of milk he burped, " I burped." (burp). "I burped again." and giggling he said "Excuse me"

A crazy week
I have had an interesting week. I have been subbing at my dads school an hour away from the house which means I am out of the house before 6am everyday to beat Boston's traffic. Gavin has been going with me. We get home late and exhausted. I have hardly had the energy to check my email so my blogging has suffered. I am going to try this next week not to wait so long before entries or I need to blog on my iTouch. Anyway....
This little story was told to me by Papa. Papa was holding Gavin face to face. Gavin looks up into the nasal cavities on Papa's face and quickly points to something he recognizes. "Gavin's booger is in Papa's nose."
Also; Gavin loves picking his own nose and showing off his prize for deepest dive into the booger pool.

Hugs
My son loves hugs. He wants to be held all the time. He love attention. And he wants certian people to be the ones to hold him.
He will find that person lift his arms and say, "I hold you?" with a look of pure love.

late
So for some reason I dont know my internet did not work last night so I could not post. Woke up this morning and the internet was back on.
Any way. Yesterday Gavin went to brunch with my parents, Mamama and Papa. He played at there house after eating. When he came home for his nap he gave me a hug and we played for a few min. I then told him it was time for his nap and he looked at me with a serious look and said. "Dont say that. I dont like that." I told him that we could play more later in the afternoon. His responce was, "Not today."
It took him over an hour to actually fall asleep.

potty
Two stories about the potty. One from yesterday and one from today.
Yesterday: After asking to go to the potty and getting help with the unbuttoning of his pants he then looks at me and says, "mommy I need to be alone now." pointing to the door.
Today: After using his little potty Gavin turns around to look at his accomplishment and says, "I made a puddle."

Walmart....
So I was just reminded of this story.
Papa is his Grandpa. I am mama.
11-22-10 (24 mo)
While playing on floor with Papa, Gavin stood up and announced, "I have to go to work now."
Mama asked, "Where do you work?"
Without hesitation he answered, "Walmart. Welcome to Walmart!"
[Then he added, "I need coffee."]

Freckles
My son and I have a mirrored freckle. He was actually the one to discover this little brown spot mirrored mine. I have a freckle on my left arm very close to my arm pit. A few weeks ago Gavin pointed out he has one on his right arm at the same location. Everyday he checks on our freckle. Today he walked in and started pointing to a few more that I have that he doesn't have. "Mommy, you have lots of sparkles."

First post
My son is 2 years old. He says some of the funniest things I have ever heard and some of the sweetest. Below is a quick list of things he has said in the past and then from now on everyday I plan on adding more.
There are hundreds more but I will add as I remember them.
- Nothing's easy.
- Sweetie, Im hungery. ( said to mommy when he is hungery)
- Ouch I hurt my skin. (when he ran into a door frame)
- I need some coffee. (everytime he sees a dunkin due to his mothers addiction to coffee)
- The sun went to bed. (when watching the sun go down)
- ummm. I want to play cars please." it's hard to say no to a polite son. So we played cars for 5 more min. (I tell my 2 year old it's time to get ready for bed)
There are hundreds more but I will add as I remember them.
